Kelly had a May wedding shot by my friend and talented photographer, Gregory Byerline. Since Kelly just one week before found her home becoming victim to the Flood, she had every right to be a total bridezilla. But she was more calm and level headed than some brides without all that excitement! Kelly was using some deep blues in her wedding decor, so we pumped up her makeup with some plum shades and lashes. Her hair was gently pulled back with curls and a sparkly barrette. And don’t forget those blue Manolos!

Meredith’s May wedding was filled with sparkles not only in her details, but in her dazzling personality as well. She came to me wanting to look like herself, but with some radiance. So we gave her a soft, pretty palette with some shimmer to add to her sparkly day. Thanks to Jen McDonald for the images. The dress is from the wonderful ladies at The Bride Room. And hair was done by the super cool Mary Malone.

My dear friend and wedding extraordinaire, Jessica, was on Talk of the Town this morning discussing gift registries. Jessica writes an excellent blog, The Budget Savvy Bride and also has her own design company. Seriously multi talented. She stopped by to get her face fancied up before hand of course. When working on TV, the lights are grueling, so powder is a must. You also want to use products that gently reflect light. Too much shimmer can come across as oily, so a diffused reflection is much more softening. Keep colors neutral and really play up the face and eye shape.

Kim is full of life and always smiling. During her consultation and wedding day prep at StudioWed, we used Jessica Simpson as inspiration for her wedding day look. Being a May wedding, we had to be mindful of the heat and try to really capture a light, summery feel. Kim has beautiful skin, so all it took was a bit of brightening to give her a total glow. She had a big concern with her lips, which are chronically dry. Using a lip stick could have made them uncomfortable and the color would have sank into the dry spots. Sticking to a balm kept them oh so kissable! So here she is, in all her wedding day glory!

The Bride Room is by far, one of the best places in Nashville to begin your wedding dress shopping. This place is carries gorgeous gowns and has the perfect setting to try them all on. It’s open, clean and super comfortable without losing its luxurious feel. Charlotte, Amy, and Stephanie are unbelievable women with amazing style and grace. They each pay such special attention to each bride that walks in and makes them feel as if their wedding is the only one in the world. I had the honor of doing their makeup for their recent shoot with super talented Kristyn Hogan. These images are being used for their brand new site (which is A+) and I couldn’t be happier with how beautiful they turned out. But when you’re working with such pretty ladies, the images are bound to be great! Thanks sweet girls for letting me glam you up!

CoverBlend Review- Nashville Makeup Artist

I recently had the privilege to try some CoverBlend products out, thanks to my new friend, Michelle at The Neostrata Company. I quite enjoyed them and have integrated some into my personal routine.

Exxuviance Skin Caring Foundation- This foundation is very light. I didn’t care for it because it felt slightly watery. But it would work well for someone looking for a lighter liquid. It’s anti-aging and has an SPF 15!

CoverBlend Concealing Treatment Makeup- Nice coverage, but definitely not for the faint of heart. This stuff is heavier and for those who want to hide their imperfections. Has good staying power as well. And SPF 20!

CoverBlend Multi-Function Concealer- This was my fav. It has nice day to day coverage and is versatile. I’m used to using 2 concealers: one for eyes, one for zits. This one works well for both. It stays put and covers really well. I’m using it daily!

Men’s Makeup- Nashville Makeup Artist

Even men need a little tweaking when they’re going to be on camera. This is Matt, who has an internet TV show called Checks and Balances. He spends his time being filmed by an HD camera that hides nothing. So we want him to look refreshed, but NOT like he has makeup on. Notice the difference under his eyes and in the overall tone of his skin.
