Beth Harwell’s political glam!- Nashville Makeup Artist

Those in the public eye know the important of personal image. And Beth Harwell is no exception! Beth is the highest ranking female government official in the state of Tennessee…EVER. She is an incredibly intelligent and successful lady. I was honored to do her makeup when she was sworn in as Speaker of the House. One of the absolute best parts of my job is getting to spend time with such respected women. I’m just in awe of their grace and simultaneous power. It’s incredibly encouraging to spend time with women who have worked so hard for their accomplishments. Many of you probably received this postcard in the mail from Mrs. Harwell. I did and wanted to share with you how lovely she looks! Glamming up Mrs. Harwell was easy, as she is an attractive woman to begin with. But that rigorous schedule before being sworn in can be trying on anyone. So the goal was to brighten her up and bring a lot of life to her face, erasing the lack of sleep and stress of the previous days. Congratulations Mrs. Harwell and we look forward to working with you!

Southern Weddings Mag Shoot- Nashville Makeup Artist

Last summer, I did a shoot with Mr. Cameron Powell for the Southern Weddings Magazine cover contest. Cameron wanted our lovely model, Laurenne, to have a J. Crew feel, light & soft. So I warmed up her face a bit with some apricot colors but kept things pretty soft and casual. A navy liner defined her eyes without making them harsh. I pulled her hair loosely back, letting the curls fall as they wanted. Her look was perfect for a late summer, afternoon wedding. Thanks also to Victoria Case for styling!

The Bride Room is by far, one of the best places in Nashville to begin your wedding dress shopping. This place is carries gorgeous gowns and has the perfect setting to try them all on. It’s open, clean and super comfortable without losing its luxurious feel. Charlotte, Amy, and Stephanie are unbelievable women with amazing style and grace. They each pay such special attention to each bride that walks in and makes them feel as if their wedding is the only one in the world. I had the honor of doing their makeup for their recent shoot with super talented Kristyn Hogan. These images are being used for their brand new site (which is A+) and I couldn’t be happier with how beautiful they turned out. But when you’re working with such pretty ladies, the images are bound to be great! Thanks sweet girls for letting me glam you up!

Photo shoot number one from the promo video was a bridal session with Allee-Sutton a fantastic model that we know and love. And of course, our absolute loves, Chris and Adrienne Scott. It’s always a good time hanging with them and we got the most beautiful images. The dress came from none other than The Bride Room. And the to-die-for bouquet is all Brocade Designs. It was so hard to pick the ones to use in the video, so here are some that didn’t make it in, but had to be shown. Allee-Sutton is super fair, so we stuck with a clean skin and a soft silver eye. She has such a captivating presence, so really focusing on her eyes and keeping the rest of the face soft enables her to eat your soul with her stare. Love these.

Photo shoot #3 for the promo was done at the beautiful Icon in the Gulch by our new friend Daniel Meigs. He did a fantastic job of photographing gorgeous Ashlyn. Nia came up from Birmingham with some great wardrobe selections that really brought the shoot together. We had three looks. The first being more simple hair and makeup. The second added some bold color to the wardrobe, so we jazzed up her eye makeup and hair a bit. The final look was very bronze and gold makeup and tousled straight hair. Loves each one and I am so happy with how the images turned out. Thanks friends!

Photoshoot Two of the promo video was the band Milktooth shot by Nick Bumgardner. These dudes were a fun group with lots of personality. When working with guys, it’s important to keep them looking as natural as possible, but clean. So I start by cleaning their skin, moisturizing, and covering up any imperfections. A little powder to keep the shine down, and they’re good to go! Here are some images that didn’t make the video.

Reader’s Digest Shoot- Nashville Makeup Artist

I had the privilege of working with an incredible group of people a few months ago for Reader’s Digest‘s Best of America issue. Rudy Archuleta, an extremely successful photographer, and I worked with a group of veterans that form 4Troops. 4Troops showed up decked out in fatigues and ready to really show what they were all about. As a quartet, they have some patriotic originals as well as covers of some well known songs such as “Bless the Broken Road”. This shoot was a challenge for me because former Cpt. Meredith Melcher was sick. So my job was to make her look refreshed and vibrant, in between bouts of nausea and cold sweats. Complicated. And for someone like myself with serious germ issues, incredibly difficult. But we pulled through! You can check out this spread, along with some others that are very intersting, in the latest Best of America issue of Reader’s Digest.

McKenzie is an Atlanta based model, I had the pleasure of working with a few weeks ago. Wee Seing photographed her in some amazing flowy pieces provided by stylist Bek Kaplan.
