My dear friend and wedding extraordinaire, Jessica, was on Talk of the Town this morning discussing gift registries. Jessica writes an excellent blog, The Budget Savvy Bride and also has her own design company. Seriously multi talented. She stopped by to get her face fancied up before hand of course. When working on TV, the lights are grueling, so powder is a must. You also want to use products that gently reflect light. Too much shimmer can come across as oily, so a diffused reflection is much more softening. Keep colors neutral and really play up the face and eye shape.

Even men need a little tweaking when they’re going to be on camera. This is Matt, who has an internet TV show called Checks and Balances. He spends his time being filmed by an HD camera that hides nothing. So we want him to look refreshed, but NOT like he has makeup on. Notice the difference under his eyes and in the overall tone of his skin.

Photo shoot #3 for the promo was done at the beautiful Icon in the Gulch by our new friend Daniel Meigs. He did a fantastic job of photographing gorgeous Ashlyn. Nia came up from Birmingham with some great wardrobe selections that really brought the shoot together. We had three looks. The first being more simple hair and makeup. The second added some bold color to the wardrobe, so we jazzed up her eye makeup and hair a bit. The final look was very bronze and gold makeup and tousled straight hair. Loves each one and I am so happy with how the images turned out. Thanks friends!

End of the summer, I worked on a promotion video for Chris and Adrienne Scott. They are an amazing husband and wife team who can make any couple’s wedding day look like it belongs to rockstars. The video was created by the prodigious Mark Brown of Mod Media.

Sarah Beth is naturally that tan (jealous!) so she is wearing Makeup Forever HD foundation in 150 with a touch of 165 and Smashbox Halo powder in Medium. Her lids are a metallic silver/green made from MK Eyescicles in silver and MAC in Greensmoke. MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack for liner. MAC pressed bronzer and Makeup Forever in Dusty Pink on her cheeks. Her lipcolor is an ALL exclusive.
